Fund Management

Our work in fund management has focused on two categories of assignment: the formulation and/or validation of an existing strategy for expansion beyond the client's home market, and the identification and selection of a strategic partner across the Atlantic Ocean. In the latter context, we have worked both for US product providers looking for strategic distribution partners in Europe, as well as European banks interested in knowledge transfer from a US partner.

Representative assignments:

  • Employed by a leading global fund manager on an extended basis first to validate its existing strategy for penetration of major European markets and then to assist in the execution of this strategy
  • Assisted two Scandinavian banks to identify possible US and UK fund management partners and, following a beauty contest in which selected candidates presented their offerings, assisted the client in ranking the candidates based on previously agreed criteria
  • Carried out evaluations of international fund management strategies, and made recommendations of priority initiatives for the future for a major French bank as well as a leading German banking group
  • Evaluated best practice in marketing retail investment products to a mass affluent client base for a leading Scandinavian bank
  • Carried out extensive search on behalf of a major U.S. fund manager for a European distribution partner
  • Analysed global market opportunities for a European hedge fund manager
